For beer lovers, we are coming into the best time of year. The winter brews are by far my favorite. It doesn't get all that cold here, but they still give a nice warmth to the soul :D Some that stand out for me are:
Alaskan winter
Anchor Christmas
Lagunitas Brown Shugga (Simply and awesome beer)
Sam Adams Old Fezziwig and Holiday Porter
La Binchoise Speciale Noel (Probably my favorite of all)
Corsendonk Christmas
Alesmith Yulesmith
Rogue Santas Private Reserve

There are tons more, and new ones coming out all the time. ANybody else have some favorite winter brews?

I havent drank a beer in years , and man do I miss the taste.
Saw a good show on History the other day about the history of beer, fascinating.

That said , if I can recall the names , one of my winter faves was Old Nick , or a good IPA , Murphy's Irish Stout (IMHO far superior to Guiness ) , Red Hook ESB among many.

Maybe the Beer Tastes better because it's Football season too.:D

I just accidentally made a clone of my favorite cold weather beer, Erie Brewing Company's Railbender. It was supposed to be more of an IPA, but I forgot to dryhop it, so it turned out more like an Olde Ale. Nice malty body, good alcohol kick. Not what I was going for, but plenty tasty.

Oh man! You are so right! My favorite beer in the world is coming back to the shelves: Granville Island Brewing's Winter Ale. If you can find it anywhere, you'd better get it. Simply amazing... I'm glad I live in BC where it's readily available.

A friend of mine is heavily in to beer trading, I have tried so many beers that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to get. Just somethig about a nice strong brew on a chilly evening, makes ya smile :D
