It's the small things...

It's the small things that I appreciate about the Sebenza. For example. With the blade open, you can set the knife down on end, with the blade edge down towards the table, and the edge doesn't touch the table. It floats just above. This is great when at the dinner table!

What little things do you appreciate about your CRK?

For me, that gotta be that little "click" when you close the blade. So subtle but positive assurance it gives! I especially love it on Mnandi.

I especially like how CRK designed the screws for the sebenza. Being all the same size, including the pivot, hex screws rather than torque, and how the male and female
screw in to eachother rather than into the handle. Keeping it so simple but superior in function than most knives.

This isn't really a detail on the knife as much as something CRK does that I like. They make a LEFT HANDED version. :)
I know a lot of production companies do make most of their knives ambi but years ago it was hard to find an ambi folder. Even now, if you want a high end folder you're mostly out of luck unless you go the custom route. Or buy a CRK. And it's not ambi. They're dedicated left handed folders.

Ditto.

Great point, and it is something I completely appreciate as well. Thanks for sharing.

I love the fact that there are no teeny-tiny parts that require tweezers to pick up, like tiny springs or 2-56 stubby clip screws. I also love the fact that CRK is one in a handful of manufacturers who advocate disassembly and cleaning and even provide an Allen wrench to do so.

I really like my Spyderco knives, but I find that I'm less afraid to carry the CRK knives because I know I can disassemble, clean, and reassemble them very easily. Once, at work, I had to open a couple of cans of refried beans. I had a can opener, but I didn't realize that the beans would be paste like inside the can. Without a spoon, I ended up using the blade of my insingo to "scoop" the beans out of the can. I wasn't afraid of getting the knife dirty. A good rinse at work, and a full disassembly at home, and my insingo was good as new.

Most of you have hit on all those great little things, but I just realized another that I never gave close attention to - The Jimping. I am really impressed how clean, and polished the jimping is. On certain other knives I have the jimping is basically unfinished (raw metal) in the valleys of the groves. My Sebenza actually has a polished look in the groves, and all the groves are very uniform. This picture still does not do justice for what I am trying to explain. Just another attention to detail that makes this a great knife.

You guys have captured many of my favorite "little" things about the Sebbie and Mnandi. I like the feel of a fixed blade that the sebbie has when opened. Also, the Sebbie and Mnandi just plain inspire confidence when I carry and use them. Things of beauty, wonderfully engineered, and totally functional.

Form and function meets up well. The feel in the hand satisfies something simple yet has me wanting to hold it agin and agin every time I put it down. Beside the warranty is outstanding as I recently found out.

Yes ! They make dedicated left handed folders. That's the best the thing about CRK. I think the only folder not available in a southpaw version is the Ti Lok. Plus of course they make very good folders and that doesn't hurt either. Wow best of both worlds! Left handed folders and world famous quality. CRK is the only company in the world that can claim that. Some knife companies make some decent ambi folders but IMO CRK is the king of the hill when it comes to left hand knives.:D
