Hi! I'm Javier Vogt, knifemaker from Argentina. I'm 32 years old, and I'm professional since '06.

Last weekend I attended the MAC (our local knife show), and this was part of my table. I was very pleased with people's response... Including one I really admire: Rodrigo Sfreddo!

It's a bail lock, 1/8" stainless 420 blade with hand rubbed finish (1000 grit); 0.04" Ti fileworked liners, Chad Nichols stainless damascus bolsters and bail.
Scales are elephant ivory, with a superbe scrimshaw by Crisitan Silva.

I'm not the best with english, so let the photograph speak for themselves, before my brain burns!

I hope you like it!
Javi

Very nice. I don't usually like scrimshaw, but the scroll work got me thinking.

Javi this is a very beautiful piece. I was impressed since the first time I saw his work in Nova Petropolis Show. Wonderful!!! I talked by phone with Rodrigo Sfreddo yesterday and he told me the show in Buenos Aires. What most impressed Sfreddo was that his work is at international high level. Receiving a compliment from one of these by a Mastermith is really good. Congratulations!!!!

Excellent work glad you shared. Now we need to see of it up for sale. Keep up the good work

I like this piece very much. I have been thinking about scrimshaw quite a bit lately, trying to learn more about the technique/artists/values/etc.. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the compliments!
I'm going to show some more work here... ... but I think it's dangerous. My ego may grow too much!!!

Eduardo: To see Rodrigo again, and to hear the words ho told me... my legs were shaking! jejeje.

Thanks again
Javi
