Just had to vent a little...

Snow in October? Really?? ...And 4 measly inches left me in the dark for a solid day... Not the kind of Fall I was hoping for. It was a brisk 46° in my house last night. Brrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Remember this in Feb. 2010?

...And then this repeat just 4 days later??? (yes, that is a Busse AK-47 buried in that white stuff!)

No loss of power.

And then this sticky cement snow in Jan. 2011???

Again, no loss of power!

But 3 freakin' inches and BAM!! ...Lights (and heat) out. Go figure!!

Sure hope that this ain't a sign of how this winter is gonna be...
Yesterday sucked, but once the power was restored and the heat running full blast, today was a good day...And I didn't even have to use my AK! ;)

October snow in SE PA should be illegal! Keep warm Jaxx. Should you need an espresso, come on over :p

Funny you should say that... I had to go to the Starbucks on 113 for my coffee fix yesterday...Then to Sal's later for a pizza so I could enjoy a hot meal. :D Glad they still had power!

Well at least on the positive side you shot some snow pics with Busse Knives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great pics, I really like the one with the FBM in the doorway. Also just think, Mother nature gives us an early snow faster than Jerry can post pics or the new NMFSH!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Yup early season snow :barf:

I feel your pain Jaxx.

We had 8-10" of wet snow Tues, Maples down in the back, cottonwoods down in front, everything but my elm was still leafed out. The willows along the trails I walk the dogs on, look like the Tunguska forest in Russia.

I spent 2 days with my B-11, first in my yard, then next door (helping out the COEDs ;)) then 2 houses down, the elderlier than me folks, and finally my neighbor to the east. I let him use the B-11, I opted for a Ganga Ram Special :foot:;) He was suitably impressed, especially with the Asymmetric edge :D. We've got piles along the curb the size of buses.

I didn't loose power, but north and west of me was without for the better part of 2 days, just glad it didn't come in a month ago, September blizzards really screw things up.

All the leaves are down now !

LOL, life in the Rockies

Yeah we got hit here in Orange County pretty bad, about a foot. Local town had no power last night or earlier today. I lost internet for about 15 hours but nothing else. But yes, too damn early.

Funny........ 78 degrees and sunny here today. Put in 50+ T Post and ran wire on a new food plot. Set up 2 new blinds and saw a few decent deer. No hogs but lots of signs. Then again I was praying for snow this summer. We had 120+ days over 90 degrees and 93 days over 100 degrees.

Woke up this morning to a chilly sub 70 degrees. No while fluffy stuff here.

Sorry to here about your loss of power.

.

So you aren"t prepared? What if zombies attack? I just had my home wired for a generator and have wood and gas heat that work without power. We always have plenty of water and food on hand, it only takes a little extra time and money to be prepared.

Nope, not prepared. Not yet...but I do always have backup plans in the event of a prolonged power outage. I decided to hang tight, but if my power was still out now, I'd be elsewhere. Last night the roads were iced, lots of accidents and trees down and roads closed. Didn't want to risk getting stranded with my cats out there and I sure as hell wouldn't have left them behind.

As for zombies...Generators make a helluva lot of noise! ;) :D

Ahhh......winter.......I can't wait.

The tourists go home, the roads are less congested and fun, and I get to catch up on my reloading

The bad thing is brass is a pain to collect in the snow when you can't feel your fingers :(

Thanks for the pics Jaxx, I can't wait for the first snow fall here :D

Jaxx that looks brrrr! It's warming up here. We're starting to get the hot muggy days with late afternoon storms kind of weather.

Crazy! My Brother in law lives just outside of Middletown, NY, and is dealing with the same thing. No fun, man!

hey Jax got ya beat bro.....11.4 inches of snow!! I looked at charts going back to the 1800s and this snowstorm whooped the previous record, and I had to work overnight in it!! on the positive side... I didn't lose power :)

actual data..
000SXUS71 KBOX 300544RERORHRECORD EVENT REPORTNATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA0137 AM EDT SUN OCT 30 2011...RECORD DAILY MAXIMUM SNOWFALL SET AT WORCESTER MA...A RECORD SNOWFALL OF 11.4 INCH(ES) WAS SET AT WORCESTER MA FOR OCT29TH.

THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 0.5 INCH(ES) SET IN 1963.THE 11.4 INCHES BREAKS THE ALL TIME SNOW FALL RECORD FOR ANY DAY INOCT. THE OLD RECORD WAS 7.5 INCHES SET ON OCT 10TH BACK IN 1979

We are so desperate for rain here with this drought in La and TX. I would gladly take it although, folk's up North have gotton plenty of rain so, I can see why you don't want the snow. Of all the weather a person can get, I think droughts are the worse as it makes life difficult for man and nature alike. Course, I know large amounts of snow can be difficult to deal with as well.

Got some snow here too :thumbdn: this means snow tires in October what the ****.......the fun begins, I love driving it but not a fan of shoveling and plowing .....

Wow, guys!

40's here this AM and riding the Harley to work, as it is to be in the 70's this afternoon.

We've had snow already, though. I know it won't last!
