Mark was kind enough to whip up an itty-bitty wharnie with some nice burl scales for my mom to use opening all manner of medical supplies at her dialysis clinic. I received it a while back and put a patina on it with vinegar (my mom is good about cleaning knives, but not so good about oiling them, and she has rust concerns) then I polished the edge with my finer stones and strop so that it's mirror polished. The Kydex sheath is my first, and I can tell you that I will continue to not do Kydex until I have a bandsaw and belt sander--cutting and sanding that thing by hand sucked a lot! Anyway, the knife is an awesome little slicer and I'm sure that my mom will be thrilled!
ETA: The Kydex was molded around the knife with magnets on the blade, because I had this neat idea to combine Kydex fit retention with magnetic retention, but nothing short of 2-ton epoxy is going to keep those magnets attached to that plastic, so I eventually gave up and now I'm calling them "gripping points"
