I finally gave in and decided to grab one of these bad boys from a fellow HOG. Perhaps my newest piece of home defence equip. My only initial reservation was that it seemed like a two-handed sword only. Most of my back ground is in FMA so I am more used to one-handed blades. But after researching all the feedback, reviews, and pics it clearly looks like it could be used one or two handed. It is not as long as I initially thought. And for such high quality you just can't beat that price. I'll post pics when it lands in a few days. And then the hunt for the sheath.:thumbup:

Awesome! Congrats on th AK. Let us know how you like it

In my opinion it is a one handed sword. It is almost too short for two hands.

That's what I gathered from the pics I have viewed. My weapon length of preference in this catagory (sword or stick) is usually approx. 27". The ruck seemed a little short for what I am used to but they look sweet. The AK, just being a couple of inches longer seemed to fit the bill. If not I can always sell it and try the ruck. But I have a feeling I will really like it.

TL, AK's "ROCK" you will love it!.....no turning back now! just chop..chop...chop!

:D

I have blown out the blades on several swords. Admittedly it was while using them for purposes other than which they were created for. Wrong tool for the job. Usually chopping limbs off a tree. It didn't really bother me because I understand that they were meant for SD and for cutting flesh. At that I am sure they would have done great.

But it will be nice to have a sword that can be used as both a tool and a weapon.

The AK feels fine swinging it one-handed. You could order another one and use them escrima-style. It does fine limbing my neighbor's tree.

Works well and fast one handed with grip near to blade, then develops greater speed and force, but with less control as you move your grip towards the handle.

Also handy to work close with, get a thought out distance from, then add eight or so inches to the reach you are working with, makes arm and leg, especialy knee strikes easier to land, But better if you just Shoot them if it needs to get done.

I have really been thinking of one of these also, Look foward to the pics Tyrcon:thumbup:

It curves up a bit and was also the sharpest factory edge on a Busse that I've received so far. Got extremely sharp with very little work.

My AK arrived Monday. Sooner than expected. :) I haven't really had the chance to play with it yet but plan on giving it a good work out tonight. But I did swing it a little this morning and am very pleased with it thus far. Feels great. I love the balance. Very light. Awesome fit and finish. Handle size is perfect. :) :) :)

Note: Pics and review to come.

OK, just stop it RIGHT now with all this gushing over the AK! You are going to put me in harm's way. My wife has been VERY patient with my knife habit of late, but when I opened the pair of Rucks, she just gave me that 'look' and wanted to know what I would do with 'those things'. I don't think 'pruning the hedge' will work. :D

So I would be hard-pressed to explain an AK! I may have to take up some martial art for a good excuse.......

resinguy: JUST DO IT! You need an AK. Put on a little Seven Samurai ro a good Zombie flick and its air chop time. ;)

But this brings up an interesting question regarding the warranty on the AK. I read on one of the many threads regarding the AK that the AK was designed to be used as a "sword" (Yeah, I know. Duh!). But then does that mean normal use for the AK is flesh cutting only? Or is it covered if you do some limbing or machette work? (No. I do not plan on using it as an axe to chop down trees). Just curious. I know this is a question for Jerry and staff but I was curious if someone else here asked.

I have not asked, but am going to try some logic here. 1) There is no way you are going to have a warranty issue chopping flesh with it. No chance, ever. 2) I think Jerry likes it when we go out and use INFI. As such, I don't think he would advocate using it only on flesh. It's just too limiting. 3) The AK is one awesome piece of INFI. Nobody who has ever handled one could reasonably expect someone who had one to not use it. So do you chop flesh or do you chop branches, weeds, etc.? Finally, 4) The Busse warranty is arguably the best in the business. As long as you are not using it as a lever to jack up your car so someone else can quickly change your flat tire, Busse will honor that warranty. And even if you do, they will probably STILL honor it. They are that good!
