I'm looking for a "camp axe", something that I can beat up, and can leave in a tool shed over the winter. Basic camp, garden/orchard , all around abuser axe/tomahawk. Looking for something small. Not in a rush, probably going to buy end of the summer. Not looking for anything with a traditional design that I would be afraid to use. Visited the ATC site, and saw some models I liked, and wanted to get some opinions on one to get. My only experience has been with dept store models. Also, trying to keep costs under a 100 bucks. Thanks for your help!

Thank you, I really like it. Maybe traditional isn't so bad. Now I gotta worry about forcing myself to use it!

You won't have to force yourself to use it and abuse it once you have it in your hands. It's a great little belt axe and you can use it for camping (tent pegs, kindling, chopping) and hunting (skinning, quartering, etc.).

The straight-grain hickory handle should last you a while but you can always get replacement handles if you need them. And the head carries a lifetime warranty.
