I think it was '92 when I got my first of these new style knives a Delica. soon followed by an Endura. Then I found knife mags at the book store and off I went. Benchmades,Microtects, and so on.Yes sir I needed carbon fiber,g-10 the latest steel etc.

Well i just bought a pe Endura for a trip to Fla.as i did not want to lose a first Gen.LCC or the like to bagage screeners or the beach.

Well tell me why would I ever need anything else? i'm in love with the Endura all over again.great steel, sharp, strong lock, light weight, easy to open and close.I can dress a deer, cut an apple or use it on the job just fine.As for SD,well to me this is the 870 of knives.

I hear ya loud and clear. Somehow it seems like no matter what new and cool knife I get the FRN spydies are what I end up carrying. Most recently a Goddard lightweight, awesome knife and lovely grey handles. The delicas and enduras and others are just perfect cutting tools IMO. The fact that they are so light means you can carry a couple with no problem.

Thanks Spyderco though I think they are more like the glock of folders as opposed to the 870 ;-)>

I own and carry Enduras and Delicas more than any other type of knife.

Every time there is a new color out, I have to buy one. Or more, depending on what I can afford at the time!

I have three of the old SE black handle FRN clip Enduras alone. It was my first Spydie, bought at Ft. McClellan BX back around '93. Too bad I didn't start on them sooner!

The FRN Delica and Endura are just plain cool. They have FRN handles but I've never felt that they lost the soul or feeling cheap in that way. The FRN Spyderco use are just excellent and I always treat my FRN Delica like jewel.

When comes to cool FRN handles, the Grey Calypso Jr. has to be the coolest. Something about the way the fish scale design flows with the overall shape of the knife is really beautiful.

I want in on this one. I have never understood people complaining that FRN Spydies "feel" cheap. I understand that everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I just really don't see it. They work hard, last long, clean up and sharpen up easy, and as they get beat up they just look better and better, like an old hound dog.

Your welcome, but I was never really all the way gone. I own more Spydercos than all others combined! It was just that for my "main" carry, a large tac folder that I carried others.

I have a custom that cost about as much as 9 Enduras, its nice but it isn't 9 times the knife, its not really even 2/3 times the knife. Pride of ownership? Well I take pride in owning a knife at 1/9th the cost that cuts as well.....

I can semi-understand people not liking the FRN. Every once in a while I pick up my Delica and thought it was not classy enough or something, so I'd grab something not FRN.

I think the Calypso Jr. is an exception though. I love the Calypso Jr. and the FRN is my favorite of any that I've handled. The color is great, but the bi-directional fish scale pattern is great!

Exactly... plus it has nice steel, light-weight and looks cool as well.
