Let's see. I've owned and sold the following Sebenzas: small Classic, large Classic, two large regulars, small Pheasant Tail, small Solar Wind, small Curly Maple Classic, large Curly Maple Classic, a large Madagascar Rosewood Classic and an Mnandi.

I was always afraid to use them for fear of scratching them so went back to Benchmades. Guess what? I was afraid of scratching them too! I figured I may as well be a afraid of scratching a Sebenza as well as a Benchmade.
I now have a small Bloodwood Classic, a small Regular and an Ebony Mnandi.
All my Benchmades are now in the safe.

Hi Richard,

Same here. I'm careful even with my really inexpensive knives. I also thought I may as well EDC a Sebenza. A plain handled damascus Sebenza is my current favorite EDC.

Good advice to buy more Sebenzas and yes, I probably do need professional help (let's not talk about my gun collection)

Richard,

Glad to have helped you out with that Sebenza problem...

I ended up trading that 960 you traded me cause I just couldn't carry it.

So when are you going to sell that Mnandi?? haha.

I too seem to have come full circle. I have bought and sold many Seb's over the past two years, but have now decided that it is for me the perfect EDC! I refer specifically to a Large Regular plain. I still own many other brands ( Strider, Spyderco, BM, etc...) but the Sebbie just does it all right! I am over my fears of scratching the Ti handles, and look forward to the day when it really starts showing it's character marks!

That 960 didn't last long! Sorry, I think this Mnandi is a keeper, much smoother than the last one I had and is perfect for suit/dress slacks carry. I had trouble opening the other one-handed with my fat thumbs.

Fool4blades,

I now have a blast cabinet so am less worried about scratches. It takes about 1 minute to refurb the scales and clip (not counting disassembly and reassembly, of course). It's a simple matter to refurb when I take them apart for cleaning. I use the same 80 grit aluminum oxide as CRK or 60 grit for a slightly coarser and grippier surface.
