Wow, nice collection. Not in the same ball park as the Striders/CRK but I'll suggest a DPX Hest 2.0 if you're looking to add more and need a beater/work knife. I'm loving mine:

I've heard the bottle opener acts as a wave feature, is this true?

Great googley-moogley there is some porn in here!

-TKC, what is that blue tiger-stripey one with the recurve blade? Just gorgeous.

That stinks (unless you like wave features). This is keeping me from picking this one up.

So just use it for the bottle opener, nothing says you HAVE to use it as a wave- that was discovered after the fact as the folder is pretty much identical blade-wise to it's fixed blade predecessor. An alternate means of opening is always a plus for me.

I took that post to mean he didn't want the knife to potentially wave open by accident. I'm not fond of the idea of having to remove a knife from my pocket very deliberately either. Maybe there isn't much chance of this happening though?

Hm, I didn't think o it like that. Bur no, if mine is anything to go by there is not much chance of it happening accidentally. The wave is not as pronounced as the true Emerson style wave, it actually takes a deliberate motion to use the wave. You have to pull it up and then rake it down so it grabs the lip of the pocket. I'm finding it actually takes a little practice to get it right.

Ya, I didn't want to have to take it out in a different way in order for it not to wave. But if it takes a different action to get it to wave it may still be worth a look.

That is my DB Fraley 3.0 Torrent, with the "Lost Souls" back spacer.

Diggin it!! I'm a HUGE titanium fan and have had many and various types. My preference is Striders as they are both beautiful and deadly. Kind of like a Marcus Lin Sharpened Prybar with the ability to fold!!

Why would that keep you from buying it? Just don't use the wave feature, problem solved. It's not like it's going to wave unless you make it wave, at least that is the way it is with mine.

Hey tonystl,

That sure is a fine collection of titanium frame locks. I only have the DPx HEST 2.0 which is my only Ti and only Framelock (but I have the ZT0550 waiting for me when I get out to my USA office in a couple of weeks!!)

I never realised how similar the 0550 and the Strider SNG's were. How would you compare them? I always really like the idea of Striders but was kinda disappointed in the whole back story to Mick Strider. Shame really because the knives really appeal...

Which do you prefer?

Ben
