Thanks to the kind folks at Newgraham, I am the proud owner of a new Benchmade 705 limited edition with uncoated D2 steel and bubinga wood in the handles, #044/200.

This is the nicest knife I have ever owned. There were three to choose from, all were equally perfect, so I decided on the one that to me had the most interesting grain pattern in the wood. I had gone in there with every intention of buying a Spyderco Kiwi, had chosen the one to buy, and was just looking around when I saw the three 705 woodies.

I’m not going to go into a full knife review, need to own and use it for a while first, but it is a thrilling knife to own. What a treasure to have found!

I've got an old 710. I imagine your new toy is practically a tactical gentleman's knife :D Congratulations on the score, and enjoy it!
 
I've got 036/200. Very handsome and sheeple friendly knife. It's my EDC for the workplace. That D2 blade is just awsome. I find it a little tricky to sharpen on the Sharpmaker but with patience I can get a very nice edge and the D2 holds it's edge *very* well.
 
I just noticed those aren't on their website anymore. Came very close to ordering one myself. Glad to hear you like it, they look great.

What angle do you use? I have not sharpened mine yet, but also use a sharpmaker and was considering only using the 30 degree side for this blade.

My guess is that they will be available on the web site soon. If you are still interested, I would give them a call because there are probably two still there in the display case. ;)

Congratulations! I have a 705BT on it's way to me right now. That "Woodie" is a beautiful knife. Enjoy... :)

I have one two...I think my number is like 122. Not sure but anyway, awesome knife. It's my suit knife so it doesn't see much action.
