I've got the Becker Bug...

6 months ago I got my first Becker. BK11. I carried that paired with either my Tak-1 or LMF II when ever I was camping or hiking, but I needed more reach, so this Christmas I got myself a BK7 and my brother got me a BK5.

I feel I'm not a Becker head yet because my Zero Tolerance knives are my go to for EDC, but their big fixed blade, the ZT100, was a big disappointment and I feel it can't be used as well as my BK7 or BK5 for bushcraft or survival. I'm loving the BK's and take only BK's now (fixed) whenever I'm outdoors (My ZT0500 MUDD is my go to outdoor folder). I'm wondering what my next Becker purchase will be. haha

I think I'm gonna ditch the para handle on the BK11 and the grivory on the BK5 and 7 and replace them all with Micarta handles. Maybe strip the coating some time down the road.

Adding micarta and stripping, you seem like you will fit in around here. Congrats on the new knives!

The disease is catching. I just put my hand up for a 2 and 9 that a guy was offering on the Aussie equivalent of this forum. Can't wait to see them, hopefully toward the end of next week. The 2 has micarta scales and both have custom kydex sheaths. Beckerheadness awaits.

I edc a 0550 and they still let me in here :) but to be honest I always have a bk5 too, in my edc pack hidden in the hydration compartment. Shhhhhhhhh
........

Nice Knives btw. The bk5 is the bomb diggitity (I'm bringing that saying back)

Hey, Bishop, welcome to the Becker forum, that's a good looking setup you got there.

Nothing wrong with EDC'n a different brand, one of the things about being a Beckerhead, is that we love ALL knives, we just know that you won't find a better blade out there, than BKT's:D

I EDC a ZT350 and a Spyderco ParMilitary, and my knife cabinet overfloweth with tons of blades, some BKT's, some not. If you ever get a chance to come to Ethan's for one of our Gatherings, you'll see what I mean.

Stick around, and have some fun, you'll be a Beckerhead before you know it.

You're already off to a great start.

I'm new at this too; like you I started with a BK11, for Christmas got a 2 and a 9 and then decided to take advantage of the BK10 LE special offer from KaBar. Now I'm eyeing a Remora. It's a disease!!

Anyway - welcome!!

Nice scores on the BK5 and BK7. Just bought my BK11 as a belated christmas present and want more Beckers. The BK7 is gonna be next. Think I've got Becker envy.

Welcome to the mad house!

I EDC a wallet and drivers license, I don't leave home without it. It's not even a Becker, I don't know how I get away with it.:D

Seriously though, we often talk of other knives so don't fret. So long as the main bit is about BK&T you're good.

ditto here. was researching the net over Christmas holidays and was impressed with the Beckers. Joined this group and ordered an 11 from tomars. Got a feeling more are in the future. lol

Grats on the blades and welcome..im a really big bang-for-the-buck guy, and after reading up on the BK9 i had to buy one. It has turned into my favorite knife. I know own a 7,2,11,14 and my new 10..its not an addiction, its just recognizing a quality knife that will work in every situation i have found. I'm a swamprat/scrapyard/busse/esee/randal fan too and tons of other knives. But i must say, bk has taken over my edc as well as my tactical needs. Enjoy them and the crazy ass crew on this forum.

That's like the feeling dogs and cats get before natural disasters......It's a force of nature haha. Don't run just give in. You will undoubtedlyend up with more.

Newly afflicted I tried explaining it to my wife after the 4th knife purchase in the last 40 days. She is a tolerant lass but I failed to properly convey the reason behind the addiction.
