Had a Tuff Lite a while back and really dug that blade but my old man took a liking to it so I passed it along to him with the intention of ordering another. It took me a while to do it but it's on the way.

I also bought a Code 4 in a clip point. On paper this knife checks most of my boxes for an EDC. I have been really impressed with the Youtube reviews that are out there on it.

If you have one I'd like to hear your experiences/see your pics. I'm hoping that it will age nicely with those aluminum scales.

I had a Code 4 for a bit. I like the size. It's a bit smaller than the Recon 1. Good size for EDC. Carries well with its thin handle.
I don't like most aluminum scaled knives and the Code 4 is no exception. The scales are too slick for my liking. I filed some shallow grooves to improve the grip. I've also seen photos of grip tape used.

Thanks for the reply. I've never had an issue with aluminum scales before. I like the size of this one but I did consider a Recon 1 as well as a Broken Skull.

Who knows I may get those down the line.

i like the code 4 due to aluminum so pocket clip use doesnt destroy my pockets. the shreddy g10 on other cold steels is the leader of pocket destroying and being hard to put in and take out of the pocket.

Bend the clip out a little and some judicious light sanding of the G10 especially under the clip works wonders ! Some guys use JB Weld epoxy to smooth over the problem areas .

yeah. done all before, but its silly without modding it they are not useable. unless one likes shredded pockets and putting in pocket and taking out a two handed affair. cold steel needs to fix this issue on their knives. costs to fix in designs would be minimal.

I agree , but part of the problem is to keep the design ambidextrous . Also some people want that maximum grip texture . My degree of mod takes all of 5 to 10 minutes . The poor QC on some of the Triad locks is a whole different story . Those can take me months of working in .

true. just annoys me that i have to mod them to make them useable. yeah im whining.;)

I put grip tape on the scales of my Code 4. Handles much better that way. Still carry my Lawman and Recon1 more.
