...Or Thanks For The Enabling.

It wasn't but a scant few months ago that there was nary a custom slipjoint in my collection.

Now, thanks to the enabling that goes on routinely in this fine locale, I've got the following little group by Messrs Bose, Cover, Chamblin, Moore & Ruple (sounds like an injury/accident firm to rival Dewey, Cheatham & Howe).

Thanks!!! (I think.) :p

Elliott,
That is some fine collection you got there !

Thanks, Vince. You've been a big help along the way. (And I mean that in the best possible way.)

Wow when you do something you do it in a big way..Very nice slipjoints Elliott, you set a pretty high standard on your collecting...I look forward to see what else you add to your traditionals..

Thanks, Sunburst.

As our mutual friend Tony Bose likes to say, he never saw a Brinks truck following a hearse on the way to the graveyard. I'm trying to heed the advice of good friends. :p

Blues, glad to have you aboard the slipjoint sickness. :) You're off to a great start.

The knife at the top of your pic is my favorite , man that looks so nice.:)

I'm sure Tony will appreciate your discerning eye! ;)

(Thanks, db. Appreciate it, lest you think I'd forgotten.)

I'm in the same boat, Blues... Right now I have a Kawamura and Ty Montell. I love them both.

I've always carried a traditional pattern knife in my pocket but never considered custom of the same styles. About a couple years ago I decided to get a custom katana and tanto to honor my Japanese In-laws samurai heritage and family crest.

Considering i'd have two blades honoring the family as an heirloom, i've thought about selling the katana to fund more custom slippies. :D I could easily buy a custom from Bose (assuming I can find one), a Chamblin, and one from Shadley with the funds. Decisions, Decisions... ;)

Aw shucks, Mike. Now you've gone and done it. (I'm gettin' all verklempt!) ;)

Thanks though. It's sure been a lot of fun for me.

Wow! Just look at you now. Every one of those is top shelf stuff.
The Dewey and the Cheatham are nice but that Howe is amazing.;)

Well, comin' from you, Rob, that's high praise indeed. Little did I know a few years back when I sent you that Tomes/Scagel reproduction who I was dealing with. I've learned tons from admiring knives both in your current collection as well as ones that have gone back and forth amongst our mutual friends.

(Now I've got to get in on that and learn all the secret handshakes and signs. ;) )

Elliott,
Seeing all your custom slips in one shot, made me want to show my small pile.I hope you don't mind,I didn't want to start another thread.
They look pretty good together
Thanks,
-Vince

Damn right they do, Vince. That swayback works great with your "Lanny's Clip" but in the interest of artistic integrity I think I'd have had those two shadow patterns together. LOL!

That's a sweet bunch, Vince. Glad to have 'em posted here.

Great group shots you guys.

I'm thinkin' with pictures like these becoming more common here, it may be time to consider official BFC - Traditional Forum drool bibs...machine washable of course.

Ford, that's a hoot!!! I love it. I hope they're going to be serial numbered. Remember, bragging rights in bibs is every bit as important as in knives and pi$$ing contests! ;)
