Found these pics this week from when I worked at a coal mine in England.
I'm the one with the burning torch in the first pic !

I bet that was a dirty job!!! Are you still doing that in Canada?

Yeah it sure was dirty, when I used to go on vacation it took a full week for the dirt to leave my pores !
Nah, I did welding for a short time in Canada but not any more !

Hi pitdog -

I can relate - I used to run a multi-drill in a factory - I would get chem-tool and oil and metallic scrap all over me - I had greasy crud on my boots that made them black. I don't miss those days too much.

best regards -

I worked in a factory for 37 years. I did a lot of metal stamping (greasy, oily work), before I moved into lathes. Still, I learned quickly to change shoes at work before I came home!

LOL...Welcome to my world 'Ol Bud....I've been working underground in the CoalMines for almost 5yrs now. My hands look like a well worn piece of leather ! Here are a few Pics from the mines where I work

Great pics buddy, ya still a novice though, LOL ! I had 12 years at the mine and 5 years at a mining company service centre as a welder before that !!!:D

Ps. Is your shuttle car made by JOY ? I believe that was the make of ours, I was always repairing and re-inforcing the canopy above the cabs !
