reading almost every thread on this board. Almost 150 pages of threads...took up most of my free internet time. But it was definitely worth it. I'm currently waiting for an RC-3Mil from Derrick at KSP(who is a fantastic person to deal with. he's put up with my incessant calls...) So I wanted to catch up on everything RAT related. Currently my only fixed blade knives are a glock field knife and a larger gerber knife i got from dicks. They've served me well on the camping trips i've been on, but i wanted to upgrade to a better quality knife to keep on me. So i decided to start off with a smaller EDC knife.

The constant reading on this forum has led to another unexpected plus, my girlfriend has watched me spend so long on here that she decided to get me an RC-5 for christmas. can't argue with that.

Welcome-great choice on the RC-3mil-you'll be hooked. Great GF buying you an RC-5 also.

Welcome aboard! Great first choice in blades, The RC-3 is a wonderful knife, and once you get the RC-5 from your girl, you might just want to marry her :)

Haha, I love reading this story because it reminds me so much of myself when I first discovered bladeforums. Spent hours everyday reading everything from general discussion to for sale by dealer. Wait I still do that :D

Welcome! Get yourself an Izula next

Welcome to the "club"! I'll second the notion that if your girlfriend bought you an RC-5 for Christmas you might want to marry her. Anyways, great choice on the blades I'm sure you'll love both of them.

thanks guys. i'm definitely looking forward to becoming a part of this community. I initially purchased the RC-3 to take on a camping expedition in the everglades at the end of this month. So hopefully the blade can handle everything I need on the drive from PA to FL and while camping and hiking. I have no doubt that it will.

Excited to put it through it's paces.

You started off dealing with two of the most generous and honest guys in the business. Jeff and Derrick.

Congrats!

I thank you for that compliment. I'm sure Derrick does also.

It is good to hear of someone who does real research before posting a question that was just seen by all 2 days ago. You obviously have done your homework and you will be pleased with your purchase.
