A true "custom" for our friend Canineforge, this 11 inch, clay- hardened W-2 with chocolate and cream mammoth ivory and "w" patterned Damascus fittings, evolved over numerous phone and e-mails. Joe had a great input, and deserves much of the credit for the design, I'll take any blame...
Hope you enjoy.

Gorgeous Bowie. Great design, top notch materials and beautiful hamon. I just love well executed frame handles.
I can see Joe's input and a little Hanson influence in the blade profile. ;)

Fantastic bowie, John - REALLY well done. Great lines on this piece. Joe - congrats, bro!

Roger

I'd love to see a larger image, but even though this one is a little small, you can tell it is a great looking knife.

Thanks for the nice comments everybody! And, thanks for the larger image, Roger. John's super clean work can really be seen in this one. John was wonderful to work with! And, when I ordered this at Little Rock last year, John was resisting (is that stated properly John?? ;)) the computer. I was so glad to see him join the forums this year.
I'll attach a few of the assembly photos John shared with me, but having the capacity to send sketches of blade shape, handle design and guard design really made this a fun project. I really appreciate the extra time you took with me on this one, John.
When I saw the mammoth scales John wanted to use on this, I ask if he would consider all damascus fittings, and he made it work so well.
Having these photos along the way helped on guard size, handle design and appreciation of construction tremendously:

Thanks again, John. And, congratulations once more for your 'Best of Show' award in Little Rock with your Blackwood SW Bowie.

Thank you, Joe, for kind words and for the fun of working with you.
I have come to realize that this kind of intensive interaction with a collector is an important step in a maker's development, helping to focus on each aspect of a design, and how it fits into the whole. Plus, it's just more fun than working alone.
Let's also complement Chuck Ward for his fine photo.
