As some of you may know, I've been honored to be selected as the Guest Mastersmith at Jerry Fisk's Micro-Show this October.

For that show, here's an 11" 1084 Clam-Shell Carbon Bowie, with Pre-Ban Elephant Ivory Frame-handle. The fittings are all 416 S/S, with tiny file-work frame liners, and clam-filed fineal.

The sheath is by Paul Long, with brown Nile Croc insert, and the Photo Montage by Chuck Ward.

I was trying for simple and clean.

Hope you like it.

Great looking knife, John.
Ivory is outstanding.
Mr. Longs work is beautiful as always.

Exceptional package - someone will be very happy!

John, that's a really nice package. What I especially like about the knife is the fact that it is clean. What I mean is that no particular part of the knife calls for more attention than the other parts. That way it has a flow from tip to fineal, with no "disturbance" anywhere. Do I make sense?

I didn't think I liked clamshells, but oh man...

John, you were trying for clean, and you nailed it. This is an outstanding and elegant knife. Awesome work!

Yeah, that works well. What immediately drew my eye was the finishing of pockets on the the clams on the guard. I am used to seeing that area fairly rough, and that's the way it's been done. Not this time.

We all love damascus, but how nice it is to see superbly-finished 'plain' steel, too. :)

Nicely done Chuck. Especially good composition.

Very nice Bowie. Beautiful sheath as well.

Kind regards,

Jos

Beautiful knife, John. Graceful like a heron, and so cleanly finished as others have said.
Paul Long- that sheath is outstanding:thumbup:

The file work on the handle frame is so beautiful and delicate. It is amazing what can be done with an old emery board and nail clippers.:) Now, seriously, take another look at the picture and you'll see what you missed. That file work IS AMAZING in hand.
