I'm trying to figure out what the laws are exactly for knives using ivory for handles. Different sites have all different info, I'm not sure what's what. As far as I understand, elephant ivory is illegal to import/export right? What about hippo or walrus ivory?
The reason I ask is that I will be commissioning a knife soon, and I would really like to have an ivory handle (as I understand it it's relatively strong and warm to the touch, EXCELLENT for the cold). Even if some ivory is legal, I would have to get it somehow then... :S
