Just wondering if anyone has experience with IWB carry of a wood Sebenza. Since the wood is stabilized it should be less susceptible to damage by humidity but the wood side does get some pretty significant exposure to sweat. Anyone been carrying a Woddie as an IWB EDC and care to provide feedback?

Thanks, protodoc

I carry a Large Sebenza everyday ( except when flying ;) ) and I have 3 Large Wood Sebenzas that are part of my EDC rotation. The rest of my woods are safe queens. I do have 2 other Sebbies that I tend to rotate for EDC as well. Sort of a color coordination thing ( Bocote for Khakis, Buckeye Burl for Black , Desert Ironwood for others and then my graphics and a NICA tanto to round out the mix. I haven't seen any adverse effects but I do tend to wear dress shirts that are between my skin and the blade. I just like the fact that the clip is hidden by my belt and doesn't hang up on doorways etc. I do have some very nice G2 stuff for my knives but I like the low profile approach most of the time.

I've tried IWB carry a couple times and found it really limits my access to the knife too much. It's just a PITA to get the knife out to use it, and also to put it back. Is this not a problem for you guys?

I agree with Medic, I have no need for IWB carry with a knife, in the pocket is so much more convienient. Only problem is that dress pants tend to have more slanted cuts on the pockets and lighter material than jeans, and hence don't support heavier knives as well. Not a big problem since if I'm getting dressed up I prolly won't need a big knife anyway, and that's why I got a nice looking Mnandi.

Smaller knives tend to work best IWB in my opinion and my small sebenza is the most comfortable I have ever carried ( I have carried loads of different knives IWB for ther last 10 years or so)

Once you get used the various techniques for withdrawing the knife, depending on what sort of wasitbamd/material your trousers have, it is a much better allround carry position IMHO.

You do notice when your wife shrinks your trousers in the wash though, or is that just me putting on weigh :D

If I am using my knife a lot at work then I clip it in my pocket but as I carry my kinfe a lot more than using it (as I suspect all of us do) it spends most time IWB.
