Had never thought to baton a knife through wood or anything like that until I found this subforum, after I got my izula a couple of weeks ago. I am impressed with how tough this little thing is. It cut in half (against the grain) a bunch of 1x2" pieces of kindling like nothing this evening. I went to stick it into a piece of wood so I wouldnt kneel on it, missed the wood and stabbed the rock below the fireplace with it, didnt even chip the tip. After I got done banging it through a bunch of kindling and trying to stab rock, 10 minutes on my arksans stones and strop, back to razor sharp again. Esee knives deffinetly have a place with me from now on.

Had ordered a rc5 this morning, and cant wait to see what damage I can do with that, ecspecially seeing how the little izula holds up.

ESEE knives are tougher than Chinese Arithmetic. ( :D ) That #5 SERE is definitely my next purchase.

ESEE knives are "rock solid" well actually harder according to your test :D. I'm getting the ESEE 4 next though, I prefer the flat grind to the saber grind, thats the main reason. Both the 4 and 5 will put up with some serious use :)
