I know 1095 steel is prone to rust if not cared for properly. With that said, is an izula 2 a good choice of blade to go into a damp rainy environment?

Just use the hell out of it.
It wont have a chance to rust

Also, a small amount of preventative maintenance will go a long way. If you look on the ESEE website you can find many pics of them being used in the jungles of South America.
