My Izula arrived today and just love the feel of the little guy. I might just have to get my wife a pink one. I haven't had a chance to cut anything with it but the regular paper test of a newly purchased knife.

I see you have the Ruger LCP. How do you like it?

I want an LCP so bad. The only thing holding me back is there is no ammo.:grumpy:
Nice looking setup:thumbup:

Just buy one. You'll find a way to get the ammo. I don't have the Ruger but a Kel-tec and it's an amazing piece. Pistol packing doesn't get any easier than this and there's never an excuse for not having one of these babies on you. I have a few different holster options but my favorite for daily use is an IWB kydex one.

There's a world of difference in quality in the LCP over the KEL TEC. Accuracy is better too I think. I've shot both.

I am making my fiance get her CCW permit. After the murders of a young couple in my area and some reports of attacks on her campus I think she should be prepared. I have already taught her be aware of her surroundings such as; walk in groups, walk in the light, check your back seat before you get in your care. Now I want her to have have some protection. I am thinking of purchasing the revolver model, the LCR, for her.

Roar, I have heard mixed things about the LCR, as far as performance and ergonomics. Make sure you do your research before you buy it. There are alot of great CCW platforms out there, don't sacrifice ANYTHING when it comes to dropping money on a carry gun. Ruger is a fine company and the two Ruger firearms I own have never given me anything to complain about. Just make sure the nonbiased reviews tell you what you want, not just the company specs.

That's why it's taking so long to make a purchase. Inevitably you will find reviews either in the positive or negative depending on how the writer feels about a company. I know for a fact I am going to get a revolver, as I think it's easier for someone that doesn't have much experience with handguns to use.

Both are reliable guns but the Kel Tec finish is awful in my opinion. I've held a P-3AT a few times and never felt comfortable with it. Everyone says the LCP isn't a fun gun to shoot which is true but its not that bad. I was able to put 100 rounds through it one session at the range. Granted after shooting that and my 1911 my hand was a little sore.

I agree, I will never fault anyone for choosing a revolver for CCW. I got a great deal on a used in perfect condition Taurus 651, and since it has gone with me on backpacking trips all across the country. It's heavier but to be honest after you carry it for a week you really miss it when it isn't there. The low profile humpback hammer is very easy to use, and having that single action option and a 4 pound trigger pull on the first shot is awesome.

That's interesting because I've spoken with people who own both who prefer the Kel-tec. I will admit some come rougher out of the box but I spent 20 minutes fluffing and buffing mine and have never had a failure. As long as the Ruger has been recalled, I'm sure they're both great choices. I like what I've heard about Kel-tec customer service and prefer the original to a copy but I would not hesitate to own the Ruger if I had found a good deal on it first. From what I've seen neither sits on the shelf long.
FWIW, the finger extension on the magazine makes all the difference for shooting control.

Sorry for the thread hijack! It seems the Izula and the little .380's make great companions though.

+ on the KelTec. I fired the Ruger LCP & my Keltec PF9, I feel the kick on my PF9 is easier to manage than the .380 (IMO). I didnt have any malfunctions with the LCP though. Also, a local gun shop here in Ct. is offering the LCP for $269, which is a great $. Ammo on the .380 is tough to find and more $ than 9mm, isnt that odd?

Back several months that was the complete opposite around here. I could find .380 almost everywhere. Soon after that a few of the shops sold quite a bit .380s and ammo the ammo to go along with them.
