Hey everyone,

I just finished making and trying to use a bow drill. I made the entire set with my Izula. I just keep enjoying this knife more and more. Here's a picture and a link to the WS&S Thread.

Very nice. There's just something more satisfying about starting a fire the hard way...

The bow drill is a skill that, so far, has escaped me though I haven\'t realy tried many times. I really need to spend some more time at it (and the fire plow method). I think I need to work on my tree ID a bit too since I hear that choosing certain types of wood for the individual pieces can increase the chances of success.

Nice job! I think it's important to practice and I keep trying, but it always seems every to rain when I attempt to practice with the bow drill method. And I cannot seem to get a fire going using it. Eventually I get frustrated and pull the BIC out of my fire kit and light the fire.
