Hi, I just ordered my first Esee knife and it is an Izula. I was wondering how easy it is to carry in your pocket with the stock sheath. Thanks.

it's easy enough. but the sheath does take up a bit of space in the pocket. i replaced the stock sheath with a smaller kydex sheath.

It's pretty easy for pocket carry I've found. I barely notice it. I work in an office type setting during the week and wear your run of the mill khakis everyday and it fits great in my front right pocket. I think you'll be surprised how well it fits in a pocket with the stock sheath.

carry mine daily RFP in the stock sheath with an ESEE-3 clip plate. if i need to get change or whatever else out of the pocket, i just take the knife & sheath out. easy one-hand access and resheathing.

I actually prefer the stock sheath for pocket carry. It does take up a bit of space but it keeps the knife vertical. I don't carry it to work but I do carry it in my pocket on hikes.
What I do carry at work is a folder and since knives are frowned upon at work I carry it in my pocket and not clipped as usual. What annoys me about that is it often shifts in my pocket and ends up horizontal which causes it to print more and be uncomfortable.

That's why I don't mind the stock sheath for pocket carry. It may take up space but it keeps it where you want it inside the pocket.

yeah, carrying a pocket knife of any sort is a terminable offense at my job. a hardware/lumber store! i work in receiving, and cut boxes and twine all day.

carry my izula there daily, along with a couple other knives. i usually forget my "issued" box knife, and i gotta use something, right? :D

I used to carry it in the front pocket some with the stock sheath but have primarily carried it lately in a rear pocket with a KSF pocket sheath which works awesome. I can draw the knife out by slipping the tip of my pinky into the end hole which sticks out just a bit above the top of the pocket and draw it and the leather sheath stays in the pocket.

I've carried mine front pocket in my chinos at work and forgotten it was there until I got home and put on "real clothes" - when it dropped out of the pocket onto the floor.
If you want a smaller sheath, send an email to shotgunner 11 - or click on the link to his website from Mrs S's sig line. He does a good job with a simple folded kydex for a fair price.

Thanks I appreciate the help.

Pocket carry is my primary method in which my Izula rides with me. It just disappears in your pocket. The sheath, however, is a bit bulky for me to neck carry. That's what thin Kydex sheaths are for. ;)

When I carry my Izula, I use the stock sheath and it fits just fine in my pocket. For reference, I typically wear dress slacks and a button-up shirt. Never had an issue with this.

man you better be careful, jobs aren't easy to come by anymore....

OP you can carry a Junglas in your pocket some may even claim they barely notice its there, with that said its really just a matter of comfort to you, myself no bother, then again I can carry it as a necker with no bother.. YMMV

I work in an office and wear dress slacks and I pocket carry the Izula with stock sheath daily. During the weekends, I strap the sheath to my belt horizontally weak side appendix with a piece of paracord. Its become my preferred edc knife.

heh. this is southeast oklahoma. if i get fired for carrying a pocketknife, i'll laugh my way out the door. i've gotten a few others to start carrying a knife at work, too.

one of my managers talks knives/guns with me from time to time. he's been carrying a nice slimline opinel with bubinga handle for the last week or so. he sold me 300 rounds of reloaded .45 acp for a song, given me more ammo than i can count, hell, he gave me a beat up benchmade auto at work one day. i've got 3 steve voorhis customs about 20 years old he sold me for a good deal.

I have one pair of jeans where the pockets are so shallow that the handle shows, but other than that no problems. It's so thin that it's very unobtrusive, as others have said I don't even notice it.

Khaki's and collars for me daily as well and I carry it in my RH front pocket daily and barely tell it's there. The stock sheath is a little bulkier than my Martins' Kydex sheath and Martin can even make one with a wide straight bottm that helps the knife stand up in your pocket.

I've taken the sheath that comes with my izula and trimmed the bottom to just past the tip of the knife, completely eliminating the big hole in the bottom and leaving it flat, which lets it ride a tad deeper and stand up straighter in pocket.
It was an easy adjustment, took me about 10 minutes just trimming with the izula and cleaning up with some sandpaper, well worth it IMO if you're not planning on neck carry

This is also my answer. Like anything different, you'll notice it at first. I've even forgotten it was in there when I needed to use it! Oh well, eh?
