Izula choil hardened or not?

Title says it all. I just convexed my izula and the factory edge was more of a recurve that straight. So now i am wondering if and when i remove the recurve....is the choil hardened or not. I am considering enlarging the choil when i do the recurve removal so that my fire steel will fit perfectly there for striking. I am pretty sure it would still be hardened in that area but just wanted to see if anyone knows for sure. Thanks!

Should be the same hardness throughout

yep every part of the izula is about 57-58 RC

OK! good to know. I knew the spine was softer but just wasn't sure about this area. I will get started on it this afternoon and hopefully post pics up by tomorrow.

The spine isn't (or shouldn't be) softer.
