I posted this leather sheath I made some time ago, but after "field testing" for a while, I thought I'd report back.

Here is it showing the Sam Brown post in front......easy to carry in a pocket.

Back...holes for neck carry, or to hang on anything....

This methods works very well.....I punched a key-hole in this belt, snapped in the Sam Brown stud, and it holds the sheath in place very well. I carried it in mostly the angled position and the tension of the belt holds it in place.

That is some nice work, I used to work leather summers at a belt / sandal shop but was assigned to trivial tasks around the shop. Never did design work, mainly staining and finish work. I wish Kydex offered more customization, it all looks the same to me, unlike leather.

Nice work. As practical as kydex is I never get that same feeling I do from leather. There's just so much character and warmth.

I agree. IMO kydex just works better but leather is natural and breaks in to each specific application over time. I have a leather sheath for my hand pruners that is full of character and memories.

I like the kydex, but think if you are going to be around other people like say a country farm environment, then the leather might be better.
