great stuff man.... you love making fire...:D do you want some more fatwood, i have a gang of it...:)

hahah, I enjoy watching the flames, glowing coals, heat, smell, etc.

of that batch you gave me, all I have used so far is that oversized toothpick piece in the pic, a little bit goes a LONG way.

Ahhh RC's on the job, gettin it done, cool post. Of course now I am hungry for a steak, BBQ Ribs and Chicken and a whole host of food items cooked on an open flame....

Great stuff. Now time to get yourself a traditional fint & steel kit. You'll be hooked!

That Izula is a proto type ? The spine on yours (consistently thick up to the pointed tip) looks different than my production/common model (tapered to point). I wonder if its thicker than the production model, what is the size difference? Very Cool !!

Yea, it's a prototype, thicker stock and saber grind instead of full flat.

Why shouldn't you burn a 2x4? I've made many a fire from scrap lumber. I'm a carpenter, so it's very easy for me to load the back of the truck with scrap before I go home in the evening. I've never had any issues burning lumber.

Chemicals lumber maybe treated with will kill you slowly or make you high :D

Yeah I wasn't talking about treated lumber. Normal, untreated wood is perfectly safe though. Also, for a good tinder and kindling source, look for a construction site where they're putting in a heart pine floor and see if they'll let you take the scraps/sawdust home. You can also wait till after dark and raid the dumpster on site.

Or just wait until they're done and rip up the floor.
