Izula handle wrap question/idea...

Has anyone tried putting a long ranger band/bike tube on the Izula handle? I have yet to try ranger bands for anything but seeing them on texastony's sheath just sparked the idea. Might be an easier-to-clean alternative to paracord for skinning, food prep, etc. It might even work to slide it right over a paracord wrap. Just a thought.
 
3/4 inch latex surgical tubing maybe. surgical tubing was used by dwayne carillo for awhile on his scarab model.
 
I thought about some shrink tube,slip it over and lightly heat up to form to the knife but I think about the blister affect of actually using it for some time ?
I also was looking at a tool dip,rubberized handle for pliers ETC, dip the Izula in and let it dry ? Assorted colors and rubber grip ???

OH man! I never saw that coming. I wonder just how many tricks Shon and the guys have up their sleeves. :)

I have seen a pic of one with micarta handles once but don't remember where. Is this potentially what is in the works...? I hope so.
 
Yep, we're coming out with a line of optional handles for the Izula. These handles will be be recessed slightly so there's not a fit issue like we would have on the regular line. We're going to offer them in Green Canvas Micarta, Grey Linen Micarta, and Orange G10.

Now I know there will be no less than a dozen questions such as:

"Will the dealers have them"
"How will they be held on"
"How soon will they ship"
"Will you offer the Izula with the handles from the factory"
"do you ever plan on doing a gold plated model of the handle with inserted diamond studs"
"Will I be able to store my hideaway condom inside the handles"

:D :D

At this stage, we're not answering questions about it because we don't know yet. This concept is literally 2 days old so we're not sure where we're going with this project and when we will get there. ;)
 
I'll just sit in the corner and wait patiently...

geze, thats just..... awesome. So will you be able to buy just the handles and put them on an Izula, or do you have to buy a new knife? (That question wasnt on your list :))
 
The post did saw we are coming out with a line of OPTIONAL handles. Meaning you can buy them without buying the knife.
