Izula idea

Because I have never been successful with a bow drill, and am by no means a survival expert, I am not sure if this will work. But, couldn't the round hole at the end of the izula serve the same purpose as a bow drill pivot that you find on some knives? The only problem I can think of is it might be too small.

Hey folks. The hole in the handle of the Izula would not work too well as a fire drill as there needs to be a base to exert pressure on the drill stick. You need to have a shallow 'pit' to work well otherwise all you will do is turn down the end of your drill to the diameter of the hole. My first contribution to this forum for what it is worth, great discussion threads here.
