Izula II Carry Options

I was just curious. How do most of you Izula II owners carry your Izulas? Pocket? Belt clip? On a chain around your neck? Inside a pack or kit? I just ordered a belt clip for mine after pocket carrying it for a few days.

In my pocket, both in it's sheath and in it's sheath with the extra clip.

I like it without the clip as it rides lower and is more stealth, but with the clip it extends out enough where I can take it out and put it back one-handed.

I'll also throw them in inner jacket pockets in the standard sheath.

I want to MOLLE one onto the back of a Janus strap attachment in my colossus to where no one sees it, but I'd have a cross-draw-from my chest downward.

I don't use them as a necker.

edit: The belt clip works great for keeping the sheath inside your pocket with the handle sticking out. I have the metal tab on the outside of the jeans, sheath inside and handle outside of my pocket. Super easy access.

Horizontally, using a teck lock, on mt belt toward the front. I personally found the knife a bit handle-heavy for the belt clip (which I use in the same manner with my orig Izzy).

A note of thanks, HD for bringing notice to a fine blade - knowing it made a fan out of a "big blade guy" like you, speaks volumes.

I am still messing around with options and thought the belt clip plate might be useful. It is surely handy little knife to have around. I am mostly a folder type of guy and this is the first fixed blade I felt comfortable carrying around in town.

I agree. Most of the fixed blades I want to conceal, either horizontal back or in a bag. I don't feel weird with the handle exposed a bit over my pants with the belt clip/inside pocket set-up. It makes it so you can one-hand retrieve and deposit so I personally like it better than without the clip, which I sometimes do with a regular Izula.

Well the little knife rides fine in my front pocket, and I can use my thumb to separate it from its sheath when taking it out. But I thought a belt clip might give me more options, like on my belt, or clipped inside a vest pocket. Usually by this point, I have discarded the little fixed blades and put them in a drawer some place, never to use agian. But I actually like this one. :D

I have 2 options
1. factory sheathwith tec-loc,carries horizontal on belt
2. JRE leather sheath for standard belt carry

I really prefer leather over Kydex for sheaths. Unless the knife is going to be attached to web gear or a pack, I have a sheath made.
The leather guy I particularly like is Dwight at Armoralleather

Ive carried mine iwb strong and weak side. Mainly with the belt clip owb carry weakside though. Where I live, you cant conceal a fixed blade, so I like to carry it when I have a concealed pistol, makes people look at your knife, and away from my strong side if their is a little printing every now and then.

I'd like to just slip the Izzy in my pants pocket, but from what I've read, concealed carry is illegal in Wisconsin. So the knife is in the sheath with the belt clip on it, and I clip it to the small pocket on my jeans. The sheath fits perfectly in the pocket.

I tried clipping the knife to my belt, but the handle rides too high for my comfort.

i'm not a huge fan of carrying stuff on my belt because i always get jabbed with the knife. so i laced a piece of paracord thru the sheath and loop it around my belt. so i can keep it in my pocket and not have the sheath fall down.

Horn Dog just email Dan at the address below. He has a lot of stock items and can make you any custom sheath you want. Be ready for a wait though. His sheaths usually have a 3 to 4 month wait on customs. Don't know if that one is or not.

I'll see how I like the belt clip and go from there. Thanks. I actually found two small generic leather sheaths I forgot I had that fit the Izula pretty well.

sorry HD,
not sure on the JRE Sheath Dan is usually pretty busy ,but if you have a sheath that fits the Izula or Swamp warden then the Izula II will fit

I got lucky. I received two generic leather sheaths in a knife trade years ago. I had forgotten I even had them. They are not fancy, but they fit a lot of small blade knives like the Swamp Rat Hairy Carry, Swamp Warden, and even the Izula II. Nice and snug, too. My carry options just increased. :D
