I've been carrying my Izula II for a few years now and just recently after a good sharpening/stropping I realized that after wearing my knife for an hour there were 2 spots on my blade that had been visibly rounded. I had not used my blade once in this time, but i sharpened and stropped it up clean again and put in the sheath and gave it a good shake, took the blade out to find it dented in the same spots. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the stock Izula sheaths? is there any simple fix without replacing the sheath? I have checked inside with a light and there is nothing in the sheath, i also flushed it with water and wd-40 before trying the knife again just to be certain nothing had gotten in there.

Glass-infused nylon contains . . . glass, which is harder than steel and can dull an edge where it makes contact. But dents??? That would require some hard impacts!

It's injection molded but I don't believe they use glass, and maybe not dents, but sections of the blade there you can see shine when you look at the blade from the edge, where before there was none. I call it a dent in the edge, or a fold, could just be rounded though I suppose.

ESEE molded plastic sheaths don't have glass fiber as far as I know. They are very to cut and don't make the telltale sound of glass filled plastic. Most if not all other molded plastic sheaths I have come across do have glass in them and can very much dull the knife. I have hit and dropped my Izula while sheathed and never found dulling.

There was a time period, when they first introduced the injection molded sheaths, they were dulling the blade. After some retooling, and new molds, the problem was rectified. You might have one of the older sheaths. I'd contact ESEE about your issue, they will get you taken care of.
