I know this subject has been run into the ground but, even after a search, I am still a bit lost. I was considering getting the Armatus Architect sheath. My problems before I buy: I wear a standard leather belt, I want horizontal but would also like to have the option for vertical, and, finally, does this sheath maintain its position. To expand a bit on each: My belt is just a standard belt and, until I get my CCW permit, that will likely not change. The reason I bring this up is to make clear that I understand my belt choice may likely impact the sheath. Next, is anyone aware has to how well a Spyderco G Clip goes onto the Armatus sheath? Finally, I used the belt clip that came with the factory sheath and attempted horizontal carry. The heft of the grip actually caused the sheath to become canted on my belt with a handle-bias. Seeing as how the Architect has a single connection point (without buying a second softloop), will this sheath end up leaning toward the handle as well?

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, all.

I wear heavy leather reinforced belts intended for concealed carry. I also carry the Izula 2 on my belt in the armatus sheath in the scout carry position, and have no issues with it whatsoever.

Awesome. Thank you.

I use Armatus to carry my Bradford G3s horizontally. I bought a second soft loop and use two for a more stable carry. One at the front of the sheath, and one in the 3rd or 4th hole from the front. I can still get a good tight hold with the rear loop in the 3rd or 4th hole so that makes the knife and sheath very stable even in outdoor activities. And as thin as the sheath and loops are, there's almost no printing when worn under a normal t-shirt.

This works well for me with a 3/4" casual belt or even a lightweight, stretchy woven belt. Doesn't need to be some wide, stiff, CC type belt.

Agreed. 2 loops, for sure.

Thanks a ton, guys. I actually just purchased a vertical/horizontal carry from Covenant Design Works (not sure if I can name them or if it's just about price-spotting. Feel free to edit if need be, mods). I ordered it with a Tek Lok. I just wanted both vertical and horizontal options. With the Tek Lok and that specific sheath, I have both options.

Tek lok stands out a lot more then just simple straps.

If you find you want it closer-fitting, you always have that option later.

I just use the factory sheath with paracord, it's on an izula 1 though.
That's what I have been doing. I worry because the coating seems to rub bits of plastic off of the retention nubs. I can feel it getting looser already and I worry that eventually they will be so flush that they won't retain the knife. It has already lost retention for sure.

Mine is definitely looser and rattles but I've never had the knife fall out. And I dont worry too much about it.

That’s good. I also seem to cut chunks off fairly frequently. I tend not to do that with kydex. Plus, I just wanted an upgrade. Ha.
