Izula in Sheath Dimensions

First I am a brand new ESEE user, got a HEST and Junglas and am liking both, I'm planning to utilize the Junglas this weekend to get rid of some offensive branches to cristen it. I'm already starting to realize that 2 ESEEs aren't enough and I'm finding reason to "need" an Izula

Now to the point...

What are the dimensions of an Izula in its sheath. Ie max height, max across distance, thickness isn't much of an issue.

Or more specifically, can I fit it inside one of the magazine pockets of a Truspec 24/7 cargo pant and still close the pocket?

I've been trying a couple different carry methods with the HEST and came accross this one, and it will work nicely, but I can't close the pocket.

Thanks.

It is 7" long, 2-3/16" wide.

I have carried it in Tru-Spec cargo BDU leg pockets. Best I remember, I didn't like it that way because in an empty leg pocket, it falls down inside the pocket so it is hard to get to, and slaps around against my leg as I walk.

Now, magazine pocket? I don't have any pants with those on them, so I couldn't tell you.

Thanks

The 24/7s have internal pockets in the cargo pockets which I read as supposed to fit M4 mags. 2 in each pocket - however I couldn't imagine how you'd keep your pants up with the weight of 4 mags in your cargo pockets.

Like I said, my HEST fits nicely, but is too long. Looks like the length will be close but might work.

It also seems you could shorten the sheath by a bit if you wanted to cut off the hole for neck carry. maybe a half inch or so.

THAT you DEFINITELY could do.
In fact, I'm just waitin' until I have some down time to carve the sheath on mine like that. I'm thinking it will fit in several of my pants better, then.

I already carved the sheath on one of mine to get rid of ALL the width, and made it into a really nice neck sheath. But that's a different story.

You can also make, or have made, a low profile sheath and keep your stock one intact. I use my stock sheath mounted semi-permanently to my Maxpedition Versipack, but for EDC I use this low-profile sheath that I made up a few weeks ago.

As a followup:

Got my Izula and tried it out. It fits just about perfectly in the magazine pocket of the Truspec 24/7s.

Thanks for the info.

For additional reference:

The Izula in sheath fits very nicely in the small pocket inside the cargo pocket on the Vertyx tac pants as well as inside the ABU pants.

The lower leg pocket on the ABU also seems to be made to fit an Izula too.

I'm rapidly liking this knife.
