Hope this doesn't step on anybody's toes...

After seeing the Hest knife it got me thinking. Once the insert tool is cord wrapped it is quite secure. It opens bottles pretty well and the finger nail pry end works o.k. Whatta think?

(O.K. first time trying to put the link in so here we go.) Hey it worked. I should have put a picture of it wrapped but I am pretty crappy at wrapping, however, the tool is the same thickness as the knife so it does not affect wrapping at all.

This was a quick run trying to figure out what else I could put in the shape of the cut out. I would hate to pry with my pretty new Izula!

Yup. That the bad part. I was wondering how to get it out easier or find a different way to "make" a handle. I love tinkering as much as having them.

Perhaps a different little tool could be made that would be more appropriate for the last-ditch scenarios where you'd have used the cordage from your handle? Maybe a short length of ferro rod? Maybe even cut down the rod/mag from the kit? Hey Jeff! Where did you get the rods? I wouldn't mind using a spare for that!

Could you attach it to a lanyard on the knife, then it would be outside the knife and not trapped inside.

It is a good concept, excluding the fact that it would need to be unwrapped to use it. If you could slip it in and out, it would be a lot more handy.
