Was just out in my garage cutting a "door" in a heavy cardboard box to make a shelter for my outside cat, and as I was cutting near the bottom of the box, my OD Izula slipped and slammed edge first into the concrete.

Nada, zip..nothing....no damage at all, and it still shaves.

Gotta love this thing!!! :D

Yeah I opened a soup can with mine the other day and it would still shave afterward. I hope the 3 and 6 I've got coming are just as tough.

I have been slowly teching my 6 year old how to whittle without cutting himself, slowly because i don't have alot of the time to supervise him properly.....I was letting him use my RC-3 mil the other day and he was shaving a tiny branch, I had taught him to use a bigger stick or other implement to beat the blade through a small branch when going cross grain (chopping it in half if you prefer). I heard this sawing scrapping noise, and looked down at him, it was my RC-3mil making scraping noises as he dragged the blade back and forth in a sawing motion across the concrete he was cutting against. I took the knife away quickly after telling him to stop, and how that was so terribly wrong. Fully expecting major edge damage and serious rolled steel. To my amazment it was dulled slightly but the edge was there and remained functional. I was just as happy with my RC-3mil that day (this past weekend) as i was with my new "X"brand knife.

I too am very happy with the abuse the RAT cutlery stands up to. I think i have found my go to utility blade for the rest of my life.

for those of you that might be thinking he's only six what could he do, my six year old is 4'10", and weighs well over 100lbs, well over.

I was trimming some corregated plastic signs today and was using a piece of half inch plywood as a guide behind the plastic. As I trimmed, I realized that my uber sharp Izula was cutting about an eighth of and inch off the plywood.

Damn, My Izula is enroute through the United States Postal Service I hope it doesnt cut its way out of the box!!

So's mine, along with an RC-4 and RC-6.

I just couldn't decide so got a few =) Plus to get them in Australia is just to damn hard. So hard to order from the US.

For my PSK I wanted something for burning Esbit in, so I cut down a small deodorant can.
All cutting was done with the Izula.
Just a little stropping afterwards and it was shaving sharp again.

I've pu my RAT's through some pretty good abuse and they've always came through on top. Now I know they'll even withstand a little conrete blade work.:D

my spyderco delica4 slipped and hit the concrete while cutting boxes, and unfortunately chipped the tip. i NEED an izula!

OUCH - yesterday it happened to me, I split some fatwood and hit a stone (my board I was doing the splitting on was a little too small, I know that now). The edge looked really rugged then, but that was from being partly rolled. A minute on a stone and a minute on a strap and the edge is shaving sharp and as good as new.

I dropped mine on concrete a few nights ago and it chipped in two different places.

Also mine didn't look that sharp out of the box. I can run my hand along the edge and not get cut, but I can also shave hair off my arm with it.
