I haven't done much neck carrying of the Izula. I've never really had one feeling or the other about neck carrying, but as far as neck carry goes, I didn't really like to carry it under-the-shirt because I felt clumsy trying to reach up under my shirt to grab it, but on the other hand I don't really like walking around with a knife on neck just visible on my shirt doing day to day kinds of things. I only really like to neck carry if I'm working around the house since it's more convenient than belt carrying to me in that respect, but sometimes I don't like to bend over and have it catch on the edge of a counter or something. I also didn't want to tie it in a way that wouldn't break free during a fall and hadn't figured out a way to do that yet either.
So I used the lanyard that tightens the hood on my jacket, and tied a double-fisherman's knot, but ran one end of the lanyard underneath the sheath and out through the top of the hole before tying the first not on the left side of the sheath, and the other end over the sheath and through the bottom of the hole leading to the knot on the right, so it won't slip off either side of the knot and it helps to keep it aligned in center while also keeping it adjustable. So if I cinch my hood shut, I just have to adjust the knots to keep the knife hung at the right height. I actually got the idea from link2derek suggesting a double fisherman's knot for the lanyard in the "Izula neck carriers" thread because I hadn't figured out a good way to tie it on to the lanyard for the hood until now. Now if I could find a similar knot that's easy to tie and re-tie I would be set.
Anyway, wanted to show it off. It's nice and convenient, and if I wanted to go for a walk or something it conceals very well too. I don't know about taking it to the store or for an appointment though, since taking off my jacket is a little difficult.
What do you guys think? I think it also pretty much negates the whole choking concern too, and since I usually wear a jacket like this for outdoor outings or working outside around the house it's worked out nice so far.
Any other knots I might want to try that might work similarly, but easier to untie and retie?
