Here's my Izula setup for normal every day around town.

The Bison capsule has cash and a small typed list of emergency numbers of friends and family, and the 800 number and account code for a pre-paid calling card.

The flashlight is a small one that has both squeeze on and switch on ability.

Knowing there are times, when I wold just need a quick light, I came up with attaching my light to the neck rig with one of those magnetic clasps that they sell for necklaces. Holds the light so far just fine, but lets me disconnect it from the rig without having to take the whole thing out from under my shirt.

Very well thought-out - I really like the capsule idea. Vis-á-vis protection from being strangled with the cord: do you wear the cord around your neck and arm or do you have some sort of a breakaway chain or clasp incorporated into it?

Yep, the ends of the paracord are heated and then allowed to "melt" together. Gives a solid connection, that will break if enough weight is put on it.

That's a really good idea. Thanks - it's the rare thread where I get to read so many good ideas. Many thanks!

Great idea. One piece of advice. We used to sell the prepaid cards and most of them have a decay rate. You would hate to think you had 1000 minutes and then get out and have ZERO because they have eaten it all up in fees.

Mine doesn't, I've had it for several years, and check it about every six months and the minutes stay the same.

Nice setup, I'm impressed!

I always carry a small flashlight, but the capsule idea is a new one to me, I just hadn't thought about it before. Thanks for the ideas.

Great set up! What brand is that light? What type ring did you use to attach the paracord to the sheath?

The light was just a cheap one I get from scribeer over on knife forums, I like them because they have a real on/off switch instead of just a squeeze on switch.

The ring is just one I scavenged from a keyring.

I have to rethink this rig after today, the magnet connector I used for the light failed, and I lost the light. Gonna have to find something that clips on instead. :(
