i have been carying the izula for about a month now and love this knife. last weekend i set up a feeder and camera and when i got home my izula was no where to be found:grumpy:. i think it may have gotten away from me on the atv ride back to the truck. well anyways im going to need to replace my edc and was thinking about the hest. i work construction for a living and love to fish and hunt, so the izula & rc5 was my go to setup. should i get the izula again or spring the extra thirty bucks for the hest?

"Izula or the Heist?" Is that a freudian slip on the price of the HEST? :):) Man I don't know about what all you might use a knife for. I think maybe for most hunting and fishing jobs an Izula would do all the chores. The HEST has extra featurees like wire cutter notch and pry and opener but you likely won't use that much in hunfting and fishing. Unless you need the opener for a lot of long necks like some fishermen do:)
 
The HEST is a very different knife than the Izula. You said that you loved the Izula so I would suggest sticking with that.
 
I think that whatever he chooses, he will finish with an Izula anyway, its such a great little knife, even if you try other things you now your not going to give the izula away. I don't see myself not having an Izula, its so nice at use that folders aren't attractive anymore :)
 
Apples and Oranges. Izula for EDC, H.E.S.T for heavy duty last ditch survivor. Both have their own advantages, but either knife is a win and an Izula is ideal for almost anything that will come your way on the day to day basis. My opinion of course. Either way the bottom line is both are awesome and you will be happy with any RAT knife. :thumbup:
