There's the link to the discussion thread. I just got some paracord the other day and decided to make one. It was super easy.

Here's the full shot of it. I used around 5.5 ft. of black 550. That length will vary with your size.

Here's a shot of the connections to the after market Kydex sheath that I got from Shotgunner (this is one badass sheath by the way, highly recommended ).

Here's a close up of the adjustment knot. It's just a simple overhand with the standing line tied into it. Instead of creating more bulk with a stopper knot I just burned and flattened the end.

The awesome thing about this design (no middle grommet making the large loop a figure "8") is that you can carry it in different ways. If you wanted to use it like the shoulder harness, you just adjust the knots almost all the way out, throw a twist in the big loop and put it on like a backpack. You can adjust more once its on. You can also use it like a sling over your shoulder so the knife hangs at your side. Just pull the knots in until you like the fit. Lastly you can still use it as a necker if you adjust the knots all the way in. I'm tall so mine is a bit longer than some of you probably like, but you can always just tie a knot to shorten it.

Let me know what you think. :D

Kinda like the MercHarness. Nifty things can be done with paracord, sometimes simpler is better.

Prarcord is AWESOME! I'm a fly fisherman aswell, and I was in need of a flotant holder, if you know what that is... and so I decided to save my $10.00 bucks and make one with $0.25 worth of paracord. It turned out pretty good.

Oadon, Thats just like I carry mine for the last year + (24/7) except I use an original sheath and I tie mine opposite ends of the sheath (that are on my neck) with adjustable knots (kinda like yours but not tied to the sheath). Works so well, adjustable and comfortable. If you need a blade, its just a matter of reaching under your shirt. Damn those hard to open pretzel bags :D

Awesome, this is exactly what I was talking about, thanks for sharing... I know people spending the 10 bucks + shipping for the Mercharness, I just got 2 dollars worth of paracord and strung it up myself, Booya grandmother, booya softly...

EDIT: You can get Fifty feet of 550 paracord on amazon for $2.72... If anyone has amazon prime it ships in 2 days basically for free... So, look for that.

Nice harness. I think I'll make one myself when I finally get my order of paracord.

Does anyone know of a book or website that teaches how to work with paracord and such?

Youtube has a lot of videos. Browse around there...

I wore the harness today under a thin hoodie. You couldn't even notice it if you were looking. The cordage was a little strange under my arm on the side with out the knife, but I think it just takes a little getting used to.

Paracord can keep me amused for hours

I have a cat at home just like that... :)

Nice job with the paracord harness. When I carry my Izula, it is normally crosswise on my belt, but that looks much more comfortable. Will have to give it a shot.

Glad this got bumped. Paracord is awesome stuff and at less than a dime per foot, it doesn’t break the bank to toy with.

The first time I saw the RAT paracord belt loops for the RC-4 I thought it looked like an iffy idea at best. Now I wouldn’t want it any other way. Instant adjustment for any size belt, adjust it without tools, reverse it to the other side, nearly endless possibilities. Maybe those guys at RAT aren’t quite as squirrely as they act. ;)
