Izula size, RC-3,4,5 etc. handle..?

Just wondering if RAT has ever made an izula size knife w/ a g10 or micarta handle? I like the smaller size Izula blade and I would like an Izula sized rat but im just not sure how well it would come out when I wrapped it with paracord or if that handle would satisfy me. Because I would definately need it thicker than just the metal.
I guess this could be an RC-2 project??:D

I believe if you can hold out a little longer later this year RAT will have handle options for the Izula.

yes me too..this sounds like it could be a very cool/concealable/great knife!

Hmm should I just wait for this one to come out, or get the rc3 ive been looking at lately also? lol
 
I don't currently own any Rat knives, but I am loving that tan colored izula. I don't really buy knives w/o handles but if they put a handle on that one I'd be very interested to see one.
 
I don't have any "details" per se, just that a little birdie Jeff cough..cough.. mentioned that aftermarket scales are in the works for the Izula.

This could be very cool indeed.

so the scales will fit current Izulas? or is the design of the knife being modded to allow for scales?
 
The scales we are working on will be an add-on for the Izula. So, if you already have an Izula then the scales will work. The Izula will always be sold as it is now. Handle scales will always be an option.

Shon is working on this so when he says they're ready we will be announcing it.

That sounds great Jeff!:thumbup: I was thinking a while back that it would be nice to have handle scales as an option for the Izula. How about some nice wood ones?
 
I love the idea of optional scales on the Izula. Sometimes it's nice to have a skeletonized knife for light weight and small size. Sometimes it's nice to have a small knife with handle scales for comfort and stability (and looks IMO). Optional scales on a skeletonized knif is the best of both worlds.
 
I think you just made up my mind. I am asking for an Izula for my birthday this year and whenever the scales come out I will be picking up a set.
