Izula very tight in sheath

Yesterday I received the RC-4 and Izula and started handling both knives.

The RC-4 unsheaths beatifully. I apply pressure with my thumb and, voila, it smoothly pops right out. I moved the pin up one to tighten and couldn't be happier with this knife.

The Izula, on the other hand, is one step from being throw out the window. It is ridiculously tight in its sheath. I have to concentrate and apply exceptional pressure with my thumb to get it unsheathed. It doesn't make sense to me this should be so difficult to do. It feels like an accident waiting to happen every time I try to unsheath it.

Have others had this experience and will it loosen with usage?

Mine was just like that when I got it. After taking it in and out for about a week or 2 it got better. Give it some time it will work itself out. I ended up getting a different kydex sheath for my Izula anyway though.

I say wait for it to break in, if not, warm it up with a heat gun or hair dryer, and let the poly relax a little. Or, you could call shotgunner and get some new plastipants for it. Get a cool color too. Good luck. Moose

I don't have an izula, but I bought 2 sheaths for my 3 and one was just about right and the other was very tight and loosened with use. Just keep playin with it and it should work itself out.

It will loosen with use. Don't get discouraged. Just sheath it and unsheath it a bunch and it loosens quite quickly.

I can finally comment on Izula threads as mine arrived today.
It's a little tight but that's how I like it!!!! ;) :eek::foot::D

Mine is nice and tight also. I like it that way. It has been in my right pocket since I bought it. Mine you it is not quite as tight as you described yours to be, but just right. It will loosen with time.

Both of mine are nice and tight but I prefer if that way as I neck carry with the handle down.

They break in nicely. They are also very, very secure sheaths.

What no one has commented on is the fact that these knives were sold as multi-carry options. Originally, there was talk of hanging the sheath from carabiners, etc. (See the large hole at the end of the sheath?)

Think about that...you need something a bit more secure than your average knife sheath if you are going to have this thing flopping around.

I like love the design of the Izula sheath. I wish they had one identical and just scaled up for the H.E.S.T.
