Izula vs Delica for EDC/Tactical Combo?

Hello all! Long time lurker, first post.

My question is out of the Delica 4 and the RAT Izula which knife do you think makes a better EDC option?

My needs for a knife are generally daily cutting chores (boxes, packages, string). I also would like to occasionally whittle, but I won't be felling trees. Plus I like the security of having a knife on me at all times.

I've never used a neck knife before so that's the only thing keeping me from purchasing the Izula over the Delica, especially since I have heard some complaints about the size of the neck sheath for the Izula.

Any insight is greatly appreciated guys,

Shawn

I have an Izula, and I will say it has almost entirely converted me from expensive folders to quality small fixed blades for EDC. The izula is super light and will easily fit in a front or back pocket and disappear. Is it as invisible as a folder? no.. but if you swapped out a folder for an izula and never told someone, they wouldn't notice until they went to grab the knife. The izula has the best locking system of ANY edc blade choice (none). Add a chord wrap and it is just as comfy too. Can't beat the lifetime warranty either... I carry my izula or my custom fishwolf fixed edc probably 80% of the time...

Guess it depends on where you are going to be/your surroundings. If its an office environment, perhaps a folder, but if everyone else is cool with you having a FB, then go for the Izula

But then again the delica 4 is really comfy, and if the FFG is anything like my dragonfly, it will slice great.

Don't think you can go wrong with either choice, but if you are wanting to whittle, then maybe the FB might give you a bit more ease of mind (no locks to fail)

the izula is fantastic and so is the delica. i'd base your decision solely on "would a fixed blade freak people out?" You can't go wrong with either one.

the Izula's sheath is kind of bulky but there are plenty of people on the forums who will make and sell you a kydex sheath. I ordered one from another forum member.

the FFG delica is a great slicer and is razor sharp out of the box. the izula is also a great slicer and is razor sharp out of the box. I think the izula will be the better whittler though.

Here is an idea.... Do like i did and buy both. It all depends on the use and location. Some days i will carry my delica. On the ambulance i usually have the delica 4. On days off sometimes i still carry the delica, however longer trips and or sometimes i just feel like fixed blade so i throw on the izula or my mini canadian. My izula is convex now and my delica 4 is the saber grind which i knocked down the edge with more of a convex transition down to a 40 degree inclusive edge. Both are very sharp and cut great. however ultimately the izula will be a heavier duty knife with a better warranty.

Well, these are two really different knives. I don't think anyone can really give you the answer you ask because it really is a matter of personal preference. If you want to know mine, I have both and for general EDC I would pick the Delica 4.
