Izula = WOW

Well I have been carrying my OD Izula either front pocket or side pocket in my Carhartts and its freaking amazing. I am a high school teacher and was worried about someone saying something about carrying a fixed blade knife as a pocket knife but nothing so far.I use a knife quite often in the classroom and when we are outside in my forestry and horticulture classes and this knife kicks @$$ for everything I have used it for so far. I used it in class the other day and with the textured look the kids thought it was plastic so I went with it. Told them it was a new prototype knife from the CIA and I got it from a friends dad cause he wanted to see how it would hold up to everyday use. However I did get called out by a forum members son who is a die hard Busse fan for carrying an Izula when he carries the swamp rat necker, but whatever. I was wondering if anyone else has had someone make the plastic knife comment?


HAKnPocket - should be izulanpocket cause I hve replaced that knife quickly.
 
Nope, but last semester I had left my Izula on my desk in my dorm. Some friends stopped by and one of them wasn't aware I was a knife knut so I was a little nervous, but he saw it and picked it up. I then hear "This is badass!" :D

Something similar happened to me. My old roommate dropped by my apartment and saw my Izula on the coffee table. When I was in the kitchen he said "What's this?" I came in to see him gingerly holding it by the handle.

I smiled, said "An Izula. Be careful it's sharp." He knows that I like knives and he knows how I sharpen them often. He smiled, carefully placed it back down and said "That thing looks like it can do some damage." I laughed. :D
 
I just got my Izula today and I'm already in love. I don't ever remember any of my teachers carrying knives. I wish they would have.
 
i just got mine and Grandma shotgunner's already eyeing it up. thankfully she wants a pink one and i got an OD one.
 
I just got one as well, on Friday. A little smaller then I thought. Just need to get some paracord and a clip suitable for IWB. Tek Klip ?

My wife thought my tan RC3 was plastic!! LOL
 
I carry the pink one and people just don't want to believe it is a real knife when they see it.
I used it in a crowded supermarket with no problem.
The pink is a good urban disguise.
 
lol i ordered a normal black izula. it doesnt matter what color it is where i live. i guess if i would take a play doh knife from my pocket, half the people around me would think im a psycho or something. so ill just carry my izula for private use and a special sheeple knife (spydie ladybug, LM P4 Squirt, gerber artifact) for crowded situations :rolleyes:. but man do i wish i could disguise my knife with just a color :cool:.
 
Attitude and how you use it will determine the way people veiw a knife. If you bust out a Bowie to clean your fingernails, your going to get looks. Use and izula to peel an apple in the park, not so many stares.
 
I don't own an Izula but when I showed my family my SRKW M6, they all thought it was ceramic because of the coating.
 
Some of my friends thought my Izula was a toy and not a real knife.
When I let them handle it, they where stunned.
They started cutting like mad, untill someone slashed open his finger.
After that, they were even more shocked by the sharpness of the Izula.

Now, they all want a ''toy'' knife! :D
 
I can't wait to get mine, around here there is not much appreciation for a good knife here. I have a BK11 right now and I get Rambo comments for it.
