I'm sorry if this has been covered already.I've been googling for hours & can't find an answer.

I want to wrap my Izula with 550 paracord.I want to do a Strider wrap on it.(think it's called a 180 degree)

How long should I pre-cut the paracord?

Thanks,

:thumbup:BTW,Awesome little knife.I'm very happy with my desert tan Izula. My first RAT too!

I watched a few of the youtube vids & none of them said exactly how long to cut it for the Strider wrap......just don't want to waste any.

better to be 6" to long as waste, then 1' to short and waste 3 or 4 feet!

I took a chance & cut 5 feet.It worked perfectly.

Here's a pic.Now that I think about it,you're probably better off going to around 5.5'.This is my first cord wrap.Still not too good at ending it.It works for now though.I don't know how you guys do it.My hand was cramping up something fierce on this little task.....getting old I guess.:D:o

looks very good, I like the standard wrap myself, I also started using 72" boot strings instead of the 550 paracord. not that it's better, it's just easier for me to get to than paracord.

I am with you on the hand pain when wrapping. Arthirtis sucks and is rampant in my family. I have figured a way to do the standard wrap very easily working both ends at once and able to get it way tight. I need to acquire a camera to film it.

Thanks guys,I like the strider wrap, because it gives me a fuller grip down the center.Plus it's pretty easy to do.This was my first try afterall.

budde,I burnt the other end,Thanks

bobnery,I guess after a lifetime of swinging a hammer & punching people/bags(boxer),my hands aren't what they used to be.Also, like I said earlier,It doesn't help getting older.

Okay, I am totally exited that I just learned how to post my own pictures:eek::). Here is my Izual wrap:

After tying a square knot on the inside I gave it a good burn all over to make sure it would never loosen up.

I use about a fathom of 550 cord just to have the extra to help in tying the last knot.

I think I'm gonna get an OD green one for my next Izula. You guys are right. You can't just have one of these!

Thanks.

I dont know the official name of this wrap, but I love how it adds volume.

I would like to see someone try it with double the cords. That would really beef it up:eek:.
