anyone wish the izula and hest were full handle not skeletonized?

I know the izula 2 is kinda going that way but a solid handled izzy and hest with g 10 or micarta would be amazing and provide quite a bit more strength wouldn't it?

Quite a bit more strength for what? You won the Captains of Crush contest on closing their heaviest grippers? :D

They are plenty strong, they're small knives, after all.

don your posts are always awesome just a sidenote =)

I can actually close a 2.5 CoC and am working towards the 3!

but what I mean is, isn't the thinner skeleton handle a fail point as opposed to a solid piece of steel?

mainly thinking along the lines of torsional strength

If this was true wouldn't cars and buildings all be made from solid steel? :))

The HEST is hollow because it lightens and balances the thick blade. Even if you put the DPx HEST in a bench press and crushed the handle it would work just fine.

the man himself commented.... Well that settles it HEST as xmas present for myself!!

thanks for chiming in Mr. Pelton

No way! :)

I stick with the trainer, I'm a wuss. I play guitar and don't want to mess up the works but still need testicle-tearing strength. :D

Well, Mr. Pelton covered it nicely. I just have to add, it's a small knife and I don't think this is going to be an issue at all. If you chuck them in a vise and torture them that way with a destructive "test," you would see a difference from a more conventional blade but with just real-world use, it's not going to matter.

Tin.Man

I've got both blades. They're both great. I don't think you'll have an issues with either. I did stick some full G10 slabs on my Izy as opposed to the half slabs they sell for it. All in all I'm happy. And if you buy one, you'll be happy, and if you're not happy, mail it to me and I'll be happier, perhaps, happiest. It's good to be superlative.

God bless,
Adam

EDIT: You gonna get certified when you close the 3? That reminds me I need to get back on my training routine. I'm getting all sissified here lately. (As a note, I'd like to express my joy as my spell-check considers sissified a bonafide word. [As a sub-note it does not consider bonafide a bonafide word.])

If you can close those trainers 30 times without stopping and on the 30th, hold them closed for 30 seconds, you can rip anything off of the human body that you want to. You can hold on to any impact, edged or projectile weapon. Functional strength without a loss of dexterity.

I like to play guitar so going up, up and away with C.o.C. is a non-starter for me. One of my Brothers is balls-to-the-wall with them, I call him The Lobster Claw. :D

Don- Im a rock climber and finger and grip strength is paramount!

Im a little guy though, only 145.

Jump I have 2 izulas and enjoy the blade, but am between the hest and esee 4. i really like the hest, for some reason the skelly handle bugs me a little, but with the warranty what it is i really shouldnt worry.

Sissified and bonafide in the same sentence = awesomeness

If you're trying to decide on a hest or 4 go for the 4. I like my HEST definitely an interesting multi-tool but I'm totally digging the 4, it's like they forged it out of pure usefullness in the crucible of handiness.

God bless,
Adam
