I have a british infantry light hawk . This has a hammer poll on the back that is good enough to drive tent pegs or other camp chores of that type . I don,t know why they call it light as it is my heaviest throwing hawk and I don,t think I would be happy throwing anything heavier one handed . Just be sure to get the forged one as they have a cast one that is similar . I have heard of many hawks in this price range not standing up to camp chores so I just wanted to point this one out . At 22 dollars it won,t break the bank and I think this model is made in the U:S:A: .Does anyone else deal with Townsend and do you have similar results with your find ?

Over a year ago I orderered a " Revolutionary War" hawk from Crazy Crow. I sent it back, not b/c it was bad, but b/c it was not balanced for throwing, too heavy. It would have made a durn good shingle hatchet. Did you get one of these?

No Its truly built like a hawk . It may be the flat back hammer poll which adds the weight . I quite like this hawk . It may be the formdible nature of this hawk which makes it a little heavier . I do think that people should treat hawks like hawks and not expect them to do an axes work . Light camp chores are the most I demand from my hawk .

Ignore the sign in information on the site . On the left is a list of products scroll down a little to tomahawks and it is the third hawk down . Be careful the second one down is a cast infantry hawk and it is more expensive . The third one is the one you want and it is forged . A buddy of mine from another throwing site turned me onto this company so its got a good reputation .
