Several months ago a post was made by an extremely helpful knifemaker who mentioned an alternative to silver soldering with .022 solder from Radio Shack (using "Stay Clean" flux). J & B "liquid steel" was the option. Afer calling umteen stores and major chains with no luck, I finally got smart and called J & B direct to order some. But they said it's named J & B Weld, which I have. (I found it equal to T-88 and Accraglas) I thought this might help someone who wondered about the "liquid steel". BTW, teriffic Archives!

i've been using metal epoxy with good results for attaching bolsters. i use t-88 for handles.

I thin J B WELD is good stuff myself. someone said something about getting it in bulk packaging ? Anyone know where to get this? I have never seen J B WELD in any but the small tube/blister packs.
