I stumbled across this site yesterday and found it very interesting. I have always liked knives of all types even though I am very ignorant about them. A friend of mine from Ft. Stockton had a knife by J.B. Moore that I admired very much. I knew it was a much better knife than any I had ever owned. My friend knew Mr. Moore personally and had him make me a knife in 1980. I still have it. All I knew, and still know, is that compared to anything I had ever owned, you could tell it was the work of a true craftsman. I have been trying to look up information on Mr. Moore and coming up dry. I have found a few of his knives for sale on line but information about Mr. Moore is lacking. I don't even know if he is still making knives or is still alive. Any help on finding information concerning Mr. Moore would be greatly appreciated.

I met Mr. Moore at a show in 2012. Seemed like a nice guy, and his work was clean. Haven't found much on him online.

in this link, note that his teacher and that of many a knifemaker is RW Wilson. Ronnie has be active in the knife community for many years and likely would be helpful in giving you more info. Also, note that Bernard Levine has a link on that site and he is available via BF in his own space so commenting there would be useful.

J.B. was a Federal trapper most of his life. I have not talked to him for several years. He was slowing down due to heath problem. T Bose helped get him going many years ago. He makes beautiful folders. Larry Parson who happens to be one of the best sheath makers alive is good friends with him. He may be able to add
 
Hi, I know this is 6 years later but I came across this while looking into my grandpas knives. I am one of Mr. Moore’s grandchildren. My grandpa is still alive although he is much older and has some health problems. He isn’t making knives anymore but I know he misses it. I love to see people admired his work I remember him working all day on his knives. He put in a lot of hard work and loved every minute of it.
