That is incredible damascus. Got more details?
Did you have input on the design or is it a surprise?

He usually provides a kick-ass sheath too.

Good for you ryan.

it's turkish twist pattern.....it's gonna have pins in the handle that are peened to attach the scales....all pressure fit.....i wish i had the money to buy it.....it is actually a gift to me from my best friend.....he contacted jd because he has always been a favorite maker of mine and his.....he basically told him to make a small knife...something you could carry....and go ALL OUT!.....jd said it is the most work he's ever put into a small knife before......unfortunately it won't be going to coop but i will try my best to take a pic when i recieve it or maybe jd will send me a pic.....i'll post more pics for sure when i get some.....ryan

That steel has a fantastic pattern. I'd be willing to bet that this is going to be a great looking knife. What else would be expected of a maker of the caliber of J.D. Smith.

J.D. Smith; gift from a friend. Man, Ryan, we are talking a very special piece! Can't wait to see this one finished.

Can I be your Friends Friend too?
this thread is officially bookmarked..I cant wait to watch this one develop

And as JD himself says, his damascus doesn't "read" well on computers. Wait till you get that thing right under your nose and watch it dance!

Good one, good friend,

John
